Oversee all aspects of Panasonic’s global licensing, litigation, and IP policy advocacy matters.

Build Panasonic’s outbound SEP licensing programs. Lead a team of licensing and patent professionals to develop technical, legal and valuation positions, including FRAND. Spearhead license negotiations against U.S., European, Korean, Chinese, and Taiwanese companies.

Develop and execute Panasonic’s global SEP enforcement strategy. Coordinate and manage worldwide litigations and outside counsel.

Manage Panasonic’s IP policy activities with a global in-house team. Author Panasonic’s corporate IPR position papers and amicus briefs for standard developing organizations, courts and government agencies in the U.S., Europe, UK, and Japan.

Represent Panasonic at patent pool formation and licensor meetings.

Assist Panasonic business units to resolve in-bound patent assertions.

Author business agreements, including IPR licenses and collaboration agreements.

10 years of experience serving as outside counsel for Japanese and Taiwanese companies. Represented clients in patent litigations in front of the district courts of the United States and at the United States International Trade Commission.

8 years of experience working at in-house counsel for a leading Japanese multinational corporation. Manage and direct outside counsel in global litigations.

Oversee patent infringement litigations in German national court involving video codec SEPs licensed through patent pools. Managed local counsel and provide instructions on FRAND issues. Achieved infringement verdicts and secured rights to enforce injunction.

Designed and executed global SEP enforcement campaign involving actions in China, Germany, the UPC and the United Kingdom. The action being the first of its kind that featured the UPC as a key jurisdiction.

Coordinated and instructed outside counsels from China, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and United States in global parallel litigations. Managed in-house IP and legal team to support local counsels around the world on issues including infringement, validity and FRAND.

Achieved infringement verdicts, confirmation of FRAND terms, and rights for injunctive relief in Germany and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Achieved victory in the first ever substantive SEP decision at the UPC. The decision was instrumental in developing UPC's approach to the Huawei v. ZTE program, including analysis of documented evidence developed through extensive bilateral negotiation.
