Practical experience of conducting mediation or conciliation or judicial settlement conferences or out-of-court dispute settlements in disputes related to the scope of competence of the PMAC

Judge of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China(since 2004), organized the parties to mediate and ultimately achieved good results in some intellectual property cases.For example, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. v. IDC Corporation over standard essential patent (SEP) licensing fees was the first case in which a Chinese court ruled on SEP royalty rates in the telecommunications field ( serving at the Supreme People’s Court at the time and presided over the case as the chief judge, ruled for a retrial and decided to elevate the case for review. During the retrial process, the court organized mediation between the two parties and, based on their joint application, issued a mediation document, thereby concluding the litigation proceedings for the case).

Serving as a member of the CNIPA’s Overseas IP Dispute Response Expert Pool(since March 2022)and an expert to the second batch of the Shanghai Expert Pool for Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Response Guidance(since October 2023).
