Professional biography
I am an Italian Chartered Accountant with thirty-five years of professional practice, a Legal Auditor for thirty-one years, and a Forensic Accountant registered for twenty-nine years in the official register maintained by the Italian Ministry of Justice. Over the past twenty years, I have developed extensive and highly specialised experience in intellectual property and antitrust matters before the principal courts of Italy, particularly the courts of Milan. For more than the last decade, my professional activity, apart from mediation and conciliation work, has been entirely dedicated to the judicial quantification of damages arising from infringements of intellectual property assets, unfair competition, and antitrust infringements. In this capacity, I have acted in well over one hundred judicial proceedings, carrying out my appointments through to completion. This work has required not only advanced expertise in forensic accounting, damages assessment, valuation, and economic analysis, but also the ability to address disputes of considerable technical and legal complexity with independence, precision, and sound judgement. My professional experience is also deeply connected with Alternative Dispute Resolution. Pursuant to Article 198 of the Italian Code of Civil Procedure, the forensic accountant appointed by the court is entrusted by default with a conciliatory and mediation duty. Accordingly, in all proceedings in which I have acted in that capacity, I have also managed mediation and conciliation processes, often with successful outcomes. Alongside this judicially connected role, I also acquired substantial direct experience as a professional mediator and conciliator through my registration in the relevant official list held by the Italian Ministry of Justice from 11 April 2012 to 21 December 2017. In that capacity, I dealt with mediation and conciliation matters in areas other than intellectual property and antitrust, further consolidating my ability to facilitate negotiations, assist parties in overcoming adversarial positions, and contribute to the practical and efficient resolution of disputes. Throughout my career, I have consistently operated in roles requiring independence, impartiality, confidentiality, analytical rigour, and clarity of judgement. For more than fifteen years, I have been actively involved in the conception, organisation, and delivery of training events in the field of intellectual property for LES (Licensing Executives Society), AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property), and the Order of Chartered Accountants of Milan. I regularly participate as a speaker in events organised by Chambers of Commerce, Politecnico di Milano, the University of Camerino, and the Italian Superior School for the Judiciary. I also regularly attend the annual international congresses of LES and AIPPI, amounting in total to four international congresses each year.
