Professional legal or litigation experience related to the scope of competence of the PMAC

Engaged in litigation of intellectual property rights and patents since 2001, appearing in cases in England and Canada, and being part of international teams concerning patent matters in 16 European jurisdictions.

He has been mediating disputes concerning intellectual property rights since 2006, was the chairman of ADR for the International Association of Trade Marks (INTA) for 2 years in that role oversaw the Panel of Neutral and Panel of Mediators.

He has been arbitrating intellectual property rights since 2007.

Additionally for 10 years he was a Tribunal Judge in the UK (England): in that role determined matters that related to IP crime and the conduct of the police.
He sits on the Economic Security and Cyber Crime Committee of the City of London Police Authority Board, which leads the UKs Intellectual Property Crime function.

Self employed working as a barrister (litigation and advocacy) practicing via the firm Keystone. His litigation work is focused on intellectual property, of which a significant part has been patents An intellectual property litigator since 2001.
An arbitrator since 2006. Listed inter alia with the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (headquartered in London but a global body) and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). Took the WIPO mediation and arbitration courses.
A published author of many articles concerning patents and also several books for example:
Drafting Patents for Litigation and Licensing (Third Edition) Bloomberg Law, 2018.
A Practical Guide to the Ownership of Employee Inventions (Patents) – From Entitlement to Compensation’ by James Tumbridge & Ashley Roughton, LawBrief Publishing, 2020.
For 10 years he was a part time judge in England sitting as a Tribunal Chairman.
Founded an ADR company called Cordex ADR in 2007 and merged it into another larger provider in 2011.
Founding member of the Private Arbitration Court in the UK launched in 2024.
Advised the UK Government on participation in the UPC.
