Professional technical experience related to the scope of competence of the PMAC

BSc degree in physics from Imperial College, London UK following 3 years of study.

Worked in a wide range of technologies including pharmaceuticals and biologics, monoclonal antibodies, medical devices and prostheses, mechanical engineering, electronics, mobile communications, information technology and internet communications, digital communications including compression technology, encryption, electromagnetics, microelectronics, semiconductor manufacture, automotive engineering (including Formula 1), aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, mining, oceanography, renewable energy generation and more. 

Detailed understanding of the technology involved, working with highly qualified technical experts and lead to extensive accumulated knowledge of the relevant fields.

Practical experience of conducting mediation or conciliation or judicial settlement conferences or out-of-court dispute settlements in disputes related to the scope of competence of the PMAC

Accredited mediator since 2003 as well as representing parties in mediations throughout my practice at the Bar; conducted more than 80 commercial mediations in a wide range of subjects including, patent infringement, entitlement, and ownership, (F)RAND disputes, joint ventures and technical collaborations in the fields of aeronautical, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering, microelectronics, software development, technical product supply agreements, computer software development and licensing as well as trade mark, passing off, copyright, design and confidential information disputes. The disputes have been both national and international; conducted mediations in the UK, the US and Europe as well as remotely involving parties from all over the world. Co-mediator with other mediators. Mediator in multi-party disputes where several parties have to be accommodated. Considerable experience of the cultural and linguistic barriers to effective communication in relation to such disputes and have developed expertise in managing and overcoming such issues.

Represented parties at mediations in approximately 20 disputes covering a variety of technical and commercial fields.
