Dipak Parmar

Prof. (Adv.) Dipak G. Parmar is an accomplished Intellectual Property (IP), Cyber Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) specialist with over 25 years of experience in legal practice, academia, government advisory, corporate practice, mediation, arbitration and domain-name dispute resolution. He is Founder of Cyber-IPR and currently Professor of Practice – Entrepreneurship and Startup, appointed by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat, Department of Education, Government of Gujarat. He is a former DPIIT IPR Chair Professor at Saurashtra University and has served as Visiting Faculty at the University of Mumbai and the Asian School of Cyber Laws. ADR & DISPUTE RESOLUTION Prof. Parmar is a WIPO Neutral and is empanelled as a mediator with WIPO, including the International Games and Esports Tribunal (IGET) list of neutrals, the Kenya Copyright Board, AALCO-HKRAC, Gujarat International Maritime Arbitration Centre (GIMAC), GIFT City, IAMC Hyderabad, Bombay High Court Main Mediation Centre, City Civil Court, Mumbai, Family Court, Bandra, and other institutions. He is MCPC-trained and has mediated approximately 88 civil, commercial and family matters. He was a NIXI Arbitrator for Indian .IN domain-name disputes from 2014 to 2020 and an ADNDRC Panelist for Asian domain-name disputes, delivering 29 domain-name dispute awards. His dispute-resolution experience covers IP, technology, domain names, cyber crimes, civil and admiralty matters, consumer disputes, commercial arbitration involving BSE/NSE and shipping claims, recovery proceedings and Section 138 proceedings. He contributed as faculty to the Global Arbitration Review (GAR) Academy “IP Arbitration” On-Demand Course (May 2026), a global programme on resolving IP disputes through international arbitration, addressing arbitration’s role in the IP ecosystem, procedural and evidentiary considerations, and practical dispute-resolution strategies. IP, PATENT & AI EXPERIENCE His expertise includes emerging technology, AI and IP. He was featured in WIPO Magazine’s April 2025 article, “AI voice cloning: how a Bollywood veteran set a legal precedent.” He successfully completed the 3rd Interactive Workshop on AI and IP organised by WIPO, KIPO and IIPTI in November 2024. He is featured in the IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists 2025 and 2026 and served as Subject Matter Expert to Ernst & Young LLP for DPIIT’s Geographic Indication Scheme and Promotion Project. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS His qualifications include LL.M. (International Law & Human Rights), B.Com., CS (Inter), Advanced Diploma in Cyber Law, and PatentX, the WIPO–Harvard Law School joint certificate course on Patent Law and Global Public Health, completed in March 2026. The programme covers patent strategies, innovation, access to medicines, global health policy and alternative incentive models for pharmaceutical innovation. Results are awaited for the HLS CopyrightX certificate course and WIPO DL-450 Intellectual Property Management. He is a Trade Mark Attorney, Qualified Independent Director, Techno-Legal Consultant, Public Notary and Author. He authored “Unlocking Digital Doors: The Crucial Role of Domain Names in Online Success” in Unlocking Innovation: IPR Insights for MSMEs & Startups, published by the DPIIT–IPR Chair, NLUJAA.
