Silvia Lazzarotto

Silvia Lazzarotto is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Caramelli Lazzarotto Associati S.r.l. (Turin, Italy) and an Italian and European Trademark and Design Attorney with more than 30 years of professional experience in Intellectual Property. Her practice focuses primarily on trademarks and designs, advising companies, including multinational corporations, on the acquisition, protection, enforcement and commercial exploitation of Intellectual Property rights. Her experience encompasses trademark and design clearance and registration, opposition proceedings, portfolio due diligence, licensing and assignment agreements, pre-litigation matters and enforcement strategies. A significant part of her professional activity has involved negotiation and settlement of intellectual property disputes, including the development of settlement strategies, negotiation with opposing parties and the drafting of coexistence agreements and other agreements implementing negotiated solutions. This extensive experience has provided her with a strong understanding of the legal, commercial and practical interests that need to be considered when seeking consensual resolution of Intellectual Property disputes. Silvia qualified as an Italian Industrial Property Attorney (Trademark Section) and as a European Trademark and Design Attorney before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in 1996. She obtained her Law Degree from the University of Turin in 1991, graduating summa cum laude with special distinction. In 2025, she qualified as an Italian Civil and Commercial Mediator. She is accredited as an Associated Mediator of the Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre (PMAC) of the Unified Patent Court. Her professional and international experience includes active involvement in INTA committees dealing with trademark office practices, non-traditional trademarks and the Madrid System. She has also served on the Disciplinary Board of the Italian IP Professional Order and has lectured at the Polytechnic University of Milan, the University of Milan and the Turin Chamber of Commerce on Intellectual Property matters.
