Professional biography
Malin works as a European Patent Attorney at Barker Brettell Sweden, with a passion for guiding SMEs without internal IP competence to the most efficient use of their resources within the IP field. Her interest in arbitration and mediation comes from many frustrating litigation experiences (in several European countries), where the time and resources spent has often appeared unjustified by the end goals. Malin has a long experience as an in-house patent attorney, in big international corporations as well as smaller start-ups, with experience from a large variety of technologies, ranging from simple, straightforward mechanics to complicated algorithms. She has handled more than a hundred EPO opposition and appeal matters, and is authorized as a European Patent Litigator at the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Malin has more than 30 years of patent experience. Her main strength is the ability to see the whole picture and focus on what is important.
