He is Partner and Global Co-Head of International Arbitration at Freshfields, with extensive experience as counsel and arbitrator in high-value commercial and investment treaty arbitrations conducted under major institutional rules, including ICC, LCIA, ICSID, DIS, UNCITRAL, and VIAC. His practice focuses on complex disputes in highly technical and IP-intensive sectors such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, information technology, telecommunications, aerospace, energy, and infrastructure. He has handled numerous IP-related disputes concerning patent licence agreements, ownership of intellectual property rights, and technology joint ventures, often in parallel with national court proceedings. His experience includes representing a global medical device manufacturer in LCIA arbitration and related state court proceedings concerning patent royalties and IP rights under a joint venture agreement, and assisting a major U.S. pharmaceutical company in a dispute arising from a patent licence agreement involving ICC arbitration and parallel proceedings in multiple jurisdictions, including a reference to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
