Francesca Ferrari

She currently serves as Italian Expert on Intellectual Property and Consumer Protection at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union in Brussels (2023–2025), participating in Council working groups on IP and consumer law and contributing to the definition of the national position. She is also Associate Professor of Civil Procedural Law at the University of Insubria (since 2017), holding national scientific qualification as Full Professor in Civil Procedural Law and Comparative Law. In private practice, she has served as Of Counsel and Head of the IP Department at Eptalex (2017–2023) and previously at Giliberti, Triscornia e Associati (2013–2017), focusing on transnational patent and trademark litigation, pharmaceutical patent and SPC disputes, unfair competition, trade secrets, copyright, entertainment law, IP transactions, and arbitration (including before the Milan Chamber of Arbitration, as counsel and arbitrator). She was previously Partner in the IP Department at Pavia e Ansaldo (1997–2013), where she developed extensive experience in cross-border IP litigation, antitrust/IP interface matters, standard essential patents, and pharmaceutical patent litigation.
