He is a European Patent Attorney holding a Patent Litigation Certificate and works part-time with a patent consulting firm. He also serves as a court-appointed technical expert before Italian courts, a role that includes assisting the court and, where appropriate, facilitating conciliation between the parties. He has completed formal training as a conciliator (Florence Chamber of Commerce, 2011) and as a mediator (postgraduate course, University of Florence, 2011), and has undertaken specialised training in mediation and alternative dispute resolution in industrial property matters, including courses on IP mediation and ADR organised by the National Association of Industrial Property Consultants (2017–2020).

Professional legal or litigation experience related to the scope of competence of the PMAC

Since 2009, he has worked as an independent consultant specialising in patents, trademarks, designs, copyright, and unfair competition. He has been registered since 2 July 2009 under No. 8863 in the Section of Industrial Property Consultants of the Register of Expert Witnesses of the Court of Florence and has carried out numerous assignments as court-appointed expert, as well as party-appointed expert, in matters concerning patents and utility models (validity and infringement assessments), Italian and EU trademarks (validity and counterfeiting), designs (validity and infringement), unfair competition (plagiarised copying), and copyright (including design, architectural, engineering, and graphic works). Previously, he served as Head of Production and Procurement at Galileo Vacuum Systems (1989–2009), where he was also responsible for intellectual property matters, following earlier roles as an officer in the Italian Air Force (1986–1987) and in a technical position in metallurgy at S.M.I. (1987–1989).

In several of the Judicial expertises I provided for the Courts, I acted as a mediator, successfully leading the proceedings to a settlement.
