He is Managing Partner of Lenz & Staehelin in Zurich and specialises in intellectual property law, with a particular focus on patent matters. He has extensive experience as counsel in patent, trademark, copyright, and unfair competition litigation, as well as IP-related arbitration, and regularly sits as arbitrator in IP disputes. His practice also includes licensing, IP aspects of commercial transactions, and pharmaceutical law, including regulatory and advertising issues. He holds degrees in chemistry and law, lectures at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, and has published widely in the field of IP. He is a former President of the European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW) and served as Reporter General of AIPPI (2010–2014).
